The Spanish participation in MICAM saw 100 companies exhibiting, representing 123 brands, the 12% of the total number of brands present at the fair.

This success follows the excellent trade performance of the Spanish footwear world whose exports have exceeded pre-pandemic levels. In the first eleven months of 2022, exports reached 2,830 million euros, an increase of 22.2% compared to the same period in 2021 and 13% compared to the same period in 2019.

71% of the Spanish offer, which could be appreciated during the Milan event, corresponds to contemporary/trendy footwear, lifestyle footwear (21% of the total), as well as premium proposals (developed by 8 exhibitors).

The Federation of Spanish Footwear Industries (FICE)- which organized the participation of Spanish footwear companies in the 95th edition of MICAM Milan, an activity included in the Foreign Promotion Plan 2023, supported by ICEX Spain Export and Investment – expressed its satisfaction through the words of Imanol Martínez, Director General of FICE Services:  “Spain is the second country present at MICAM in terms of number of exhibitors. This high participation reflects the clear commitment of the Spanish footwear sector to internationalization and underscores the importance of MICAM as a reference event in its expansion strategies”.
