To fulfil this need, SIR Safety System, a leading Italian company in the production and distribution of work wear, safety footwear and Personal Protective Equipment, chose to rely on Michelin’s extensive ground contact know-how, which has been transferred “from tyres to soles” for the creation of innovative, high-performance shoes for indoor and outdoor environments. The new shoe, named UFO, is equipped with a MICHELIN outsole with an original and technically solid design. The product specialists at Michelin have studied a high-tech solution for an outsole, developed exclusively for SIR, that maintains high performance both indoors and outdoors, thanks to the tread pattern which offers high traction, durability and adaptability on different types of surfaces. The inspiration comes from the motorcycle tyre MICHELIN Pilot Road 3: innovative design that allows more grip on wet surfaces and a high-performance compound for great adaptability to every type of ground condition. These features and benefits are being replicated in new MICHELIN sole. Sculptures with large contact area allow, for example, more effective grip on all surfaces and safer movement on most slippery surfaces. The tread design has like the tyre, deep grooves that allow rapid evacuation of water and liquids. High performance and highly technical compound provides traction, adaptability and durability as well as being anti-static and safe even on oily surfaces. Available in three models, and versions S1P and S3, the shoe features an almost seamless, flexible upper, made of high-tech materials. The rubberized print finish assures greater mechanical strength, without sacrificing lightness and breathability.

The new UFO line is going to be officially presented in Düsseldorf A+A trade show (HALL 5/E35) from 17th to 20th October 2017.
