Founded in Barcelona, although the production is Portuguese, the brand is committed to helping save the forests in the Amazon, India and Zambia by collaborating with WeForest.
Besides working with leather certified by the Leather Working Group (LWG) and with organic cotton certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), it features a shock absorber and breathable vegetable carbon insole, and recycled rubber soles or a natural-synthetic mix to allow maximum performance and comfort. Even the packaging derives from the recovery of 100% recycled material and paper and is FSC and PEFC certified.
The new M89 Vegan sneaker uses Corn Vegan for the upper: a biodegradable material, obtained from renewable resources, with a high biomass content, composed by corn waste (29%) and by bio-based polyurethane (71%). The lining, on the other hand, is made from 100% bamboo fibre, a fast-growing, self-generating and super sustainable plant.
A ‘vegan’ sneaker, therefore, whose upper consists of a material made from corn, a bamboo lining, a recycled insole and organic cotton laces. Attention is also given to comfort and durability, other than a touch of style provided by the 7 fresh shades you can choose from.
