Salomon Sports, worldwide leader in trail running shoes and in equipment for winter sports, presented its latest project of a new running shoe that can be completely recycled into the shell of a ski boot, thanks to over 18 months of dedicated research and development and the new Play Minded Program, which has created a series of short-term and long-term eco-friendly goals for the company. The eco-running shoe is completely made from thermoplastic polyurethane material (TPU), which can be broken down into small pieces for reuse, combined with original materials, and used to construct the shell of a mountain ski boot. Salomon has made various commitments to the areas outlined in its Play Minded Program. To decrease its environmental impact, the company intends to reduce its overall carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 30% by the end of 2030. By 2025, 70% of the waste created by the production cycles of Salomon will be recycled or reused and 100% of all material suppliers will have signed or demonstrated their adherence to sector Materials Compliance Policies along with their conformity to the (RSL) restricted substances list.
