The organisers of MICAM Milano speak of a real Renaissance for the footwear manufacturing industry, which first started at the fair during the September 2021 edition, with excellent results that went beyond all expectations, signalling a turning point for the market after the pandemic. Now the challenge is that of reinforcing this trend of relaunching: “The numbers of September satisfied us and once again confirmed how Micam represents a unique event within our industry, an opportunity to do business in a great international hub. – declared Siro Badon, Chair of Assocalzaturifici and MICAM Milano – We are already at work to provide all those operating in the footwear industry with a February edition that is even bigger and better in terms of product offering and training opportunities, to ensure we get back to pre-covid levels as soon as possible. Market trends seem to indicate that we are finally seeing the end of the crisis, and I hope the footwear sector will soon return to being the driving force of Italian manufacturing”.

Next to the FW 22/23 collections, which represent the show’s international proposal par excellence, MICAM Milano will propose to Italian and foreign buyers a series of special contents. Making a comeback will be the events of MICAM X, the learning and training platform for exchanging ideas, which will showcase the latest trends of sustainability and innovation. At the same time, the seminars and talks of the last edition will be streamed on Micam X – L'innovazione del calzaturiero prende vita and will accompany the MICAM Milano Digital Show, online up to 15 November 2021.

There will then be the return of the space dedicated to the evolution of style through new talents fruit of the scouting of MICAM Milano, the Emerging Designers area, showcasing the most promising emerging stylists from all over the world, selected by a panel of experts. The names of the next edition will be Alessandra Balbi (Italy), Rafaella Zago (Brazil), Daniel Essa, (Syria), Jerelyn Creado (India), Marcus Alexander (USA), Meher Kakalia, (Pakistan), Gabriela Machado (Spain), Arnaud Barboteau (France), Naomi Hille and Anousjka Röben (Holland), Thushini Fernando (Sri Lanka), Titi Adesanya (Nigeria), and Lancine Koulibaly (Uganda).

Finally, a special focus will be dedicated to the theme of sustainability thanks to a new project promoted by Assocalzaturifici that will be launched at the fair, and which aims to support the companies (members and non-members) that are committed to the sustainable pathway, gain accreditation and position their business successfully on Italian and foreign markets: VCS – Verified & Certified Steps is the sustainability trademark that is granted to companies capable of achieving the high qualitative standards of sustainability.

All that’s left to do is mark down the dates of the next edition of MICAM Milano, from 20 to 22 February 2022 in Fiera Milano.
