The 20th UITIC Congress, the event that reunited footwear technicians from around the world in Porto from 16 to 18 May, was also the occasion for signing the agreement aimed at reinforcing the presence of Portuguese companies at Expo Riva Schuh. The signees included from one end, Apiccaps, the Portuguese Footwear Maners-roberto-pellegriniufacturers’ Association, and from the other end, Riva del Garda Fierecongressi, the company that manages the Riva event.

“The Portuguese market is going through an interesting phase of growth and development – confirms the President of Riva del Garda Fierecongressi, Roberto Pellegrini. – The footwear manufacturing industry capably reacted with strength to the extremely difficult crisis that had hit it, by investing in training and innovation. For this reason, I believe Expo Riva Schuh represents an excellent opportunity for Portuguese companies, thanks to its ability to highlight craft workmanship and offer new commercial horizons”.

The initiative is in line with the strategy of internationalisation undertaken by the Riva event and follows the pathway initially undertaken by Expo Riva Schuh Around the World, the project dedicated to the promotion of the event in emerging and growing markets. The agreement with Apiccaps was also the occasion for presenting the new Gardabags exhibition project: “A small selection of Portuguese companies will participate in the new event dedicated to bags and accessories that will debut in June, in conjunction with Expo Riva Schuh – announces Carla Costa, Manager of the Riva del Garda Fierecongressi Fairs Unit – The mix of European companies and Asian productions will allow us to offer a complete panorama onto the offering of mid-range accessories, as is already done with footwear”
