The doors to the fifth edition of Momad Shoes closed this past 4 March, registering a turnout that came close to 4 thousand professional visitors, with 10% from abroad. Thus, the International Footwear and Accessories Show organised by IFEMA ended its three days of business at Feria di Madrid in what was described as a ‘moderately positive’ business environment by the organisers themselves. The protagonists were the Autumn/Winter 2018-19 collections and re-stockings for Summer 2018 presented by 200 brands, representing all market segments in the Contemporary, Casual and Urban sectors for men, women, and children.

Jaime de la Figuera, Director of Momad Shoes, commented: “The fifth edition of Momad Shoes has once again demonstrated that the Show is a privileged meeting point for the footwear industry in Spain”.

As usual, Momad Shoes organised a programme of national and international buyers, with the participation of forty professionals from Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Estonia, France, Greece, Guatemala, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Russia, Turkey, and Spain. Unfortunately, buyers from Ireland were unable to participate because of severe weather conditions in Europe preventing their arrival.

Director de la Figuera was also interested in underlining the show’s desire to reinforce the international character of the event, which starting from this coming September’s edition, will see the implementation of an agreement signed with the Spanish Foreign Trade Institute (ICEX).

“With this agreement – commented de la Figuera – the show will contribute in a clear way to achieving the sector’s main goals in terms of growth on the international panorama and market diversification”.

On show, from 7 to 9 September, Momad Shoes will be held in conjunction with Momad Metropolis International Fashion Fair, always at the IFEMA-Feria de Madrid.

“A dual offering that will transform Momad Shoes into the showcase of reference for the Made in Spain fashion, footwear and accessory sectors. Moreover, both events coincide with Puericultura Madrid, the International Childhood Products Trade Show, thus offering buyers coming from around the world a privileged showcase for fashion and new trends in a sole trade fair location” – affirmed Mr de la Figuera.
