The eco project, available from July 2021, mixes the London heritage with sustainable research and aims at a green future for the company and represents only the starting point for what can be considered a fundamental and necessary step towards change.
The capsule features the unique style and quality of Alexander Smith products and the expertise of an exceptional partner like ACBC, which in recent years has become a leader in the design and production of sustainable products.
The iconic Wembley model is thus re-interpreted following the stylistic codes typical of the brand in an eco-friendly key. Thus was born Eco Wembley, a single product available in different colours that recall the soft hue palette of Alexander Smith. Upper, lining and gross on the heel are made of Rebotilia, a 100% polyester fabric derived from recycled bottles whose processing guarantees a reduction of Co2 emissions by over 75%. The heel is made of Bioskin, an alternative to leather with a 70% bio-based content, which is a material obtained from the waste of wheat processing. The insole, on the other hand, is made of recycled foam, a technology that combines 98% recycled foam, obtained from production waste, with 2% water-based glue. To complete the shoe, the 100% cotton laces and the Alexander Smith logo on the side accompanied by that of ACBC on the heel.
The shoes will be made only in the women's model (with sizes ranging from 36 to 41) and will be distributed throughout Europe by Alexander Smith, while ACBC will handle international distribution.
