The 21st edition of the Scarpetta d’Oro Contest granted first place to the “Believe in Dreams” short story written by the students of Class IV A from the Alessandro Volta Primary School in Sandon (VE).

il-fenicottero-danzanteFor a number of years, the prestigious award dedicated to children’s illustrations has extended the competition to include the participation of primary schools, which are asked to write original stories based on the same theme given to the illustrators.  Thus, an extremely important competition key to stimulating creativity in young students has been conceived, bringing them also closer to the world of footwear, which is the focal point of the themes of each new edition of the contest.

Together with the story written by the school in Sandon, which, with its victory was granted a prize of 500 euros, Scarpetta d’Oro also awarded second place to the “Pointed Shoes” story written by the students of Class IV C from the Don Milani School in Camponogara (VE).  Next, the “Lake of Dreams” written by Class III A from the Italia K2 School in Fiesso d’Artico (VE) came in at third.  A special mention, instead, went to the joint project of Classes I and II from the Don Milani School in Vigonza (PD).

The first place-winning short story will now be given over to Angela Sbardelli, winner of the 2016 children’s illustration award, for its complete illustration.  The final work will then be published and distributed to ‘aspiring’ writers in autumn, over the course of the official awards ceremony.
