_s-lab-ultra-ltd-edition_fd_blanc_paireTo celebrate the launch of the new trail running shoe S/LAB Ultra, the same that François D’Haene wore when, in 2017, he won the Ultra-Trail du Mont Blanc (UTMB), Salomon has prepared an ultra limited edition of the model which presents exclusive graphics: “I’m very honoured that Salomon has chosen such a dynamic design”, confessed the athlete.
The brand originating from the French Alps will provide 171 pairs of shoes of the limited edition model, each one symbolizing every single kilometre of the famous ultra race that starts and ends in Chamonix.
The model of the limited edition will show the unnevenness of UTMB’s path on its profile and the signature of D’Haene will be printed on the outer side, both in gold. On the shoe’s tongue there are three stars, one for each of D’Haene’s victory at the UTMB. The cork insole of the S/Lab Ultra limited edition recalls D’Haene’s profession as a wine producer in the French region of Beaujolais.

The S/LAB Ultra has been developed over the years with the aim of creating a shoe that could withstand the rhythms of an ultra race, and is the result of a close collaboration between the Salomon team and D’Haene, who took his role during the design very seriously.

An Energysave® foam insert in the forefoot adds durable cushioning and protection from rocks and rough terrain, while the Energy Cell+ foam in the midsole ensures a smooth and constant run.
To ensure comfort and durability during descent, the S/LAB Ultra combines the Sensifit system with a protective and durable lining that ensures protection in the right places. The brand new sole with Contagrip® system, uses gussets with separate geometry, offers excellent traction in the wet and ensures a firm grip, especially downhill.
