Tonino Caccin, the founder of the company, learned the art of shoe construction when he was very young. He started working as an apprentice under a shoemaker who taught him the craft; then, in 1947, when he was twelve years old, he started his own activity, first as a contractor, and then, a few years later, also with his own brand, personally designing new models.

In 1977 he created the brand RUNIC, designing and manufacturing classy men’s shoes of high quality that still today distinguish themselves for their special artisan processing, and are manufactured following the most ancient traditions of the Riviera del Brenta. In 1979 the brand was joined by WIMBLEDON, a shoe line with a well-defined character.

Over the years some state-of-the-art machines have been introduced in the company, which are able to make increasingly sophisticated processings that, though, need the ability of the hand and the trained eye of men to guarantee the highest product quality.

Nowadays the company is led by Tonino’s sons – Nico, Ruggero and Matteo – with the same professionalism and dedication of the early days, while the distribution of the shoes has grown and includes the most prestigious stores in Italy and the best international realities.

The luxury and high fashion men’s shoes manufactured by the footwear factory RUNIC have always distinguished themselves for their special artisan processing – like, for example, the original tubular moccasin, which is still hand-lasted and hand-sewn on a last in order to guarantee the best quality and comfort of the product – with a 100% Made in Italy certificate.

A special fashion capsule collection was created for the 70th anniversary of activity, and it was previewed last February at theMICAM.
