Pitti Bimbo, ends on a wave of optimismNumbers on the rise by +1%, both on the domestic and foreign front, and positive feedback from the 572 brands present at the Florentine show, allowing the 87th edition to end on a wave of optimism.
The most important international and Italian buyers reconfirmed Pitti Bimbo as the childrenswear platform of reference, showing their appreciation for the SS 2019 collections presented by the 572 protagonist brands at the Fortezza da Basso from 21 to 23 June, with their ability to intercept new trends and the future evolutions of the sector. Out of a total of more than 10 thousand visitors, there were 5,350 buyers, of which 2,450 from abroad: in particular, there was a rise in buyers from Russia (+3%, which again led the ranking), Spain (+2%), Germany (+5%), United Kingdom (+10%), Belgium (+25%), Turkey (+29%), Japan (+75%), South Korea (+17%), Hong Kong (which doubled) and Saudi Arabia. Instead, the numbers remained stable for United States and United Arab Emirates, while there was a drop in attendance from China, Netherlands, France and Ukraine.
“There was a very positive atmosphere in the Fortezza – commented Raffaello Napoleone, CEO of Pitti Immagine, at the end of the event – in the stands we saw a very concrete approach and a desire to learn more about all the exhibitors’ new ideas, while the presentations and events for buyers and press were very popular and characterized by a widespread confidence”.
At this edition of Pitti Bimbo, there was once again a strong focus on the research and lifestyle dimension undertaken for many seasons, promoting new projects and sections dedicated to emerging creativity, design, and new lifestyles, while offering the entire children’s universe to its public. Therefore, it is no surprise that this Florentine showcase is the preferred platform for launching new projects and for special participations. At this edition, the most followed events were the party for the 50th anniversary of Monnalisa, the launching of the Philosophy collection by Lorenzo Serafini, the show-event for the 60th anniversary of Chicco, the party to celebrate Dsquared Kid’s 5 years of activity, the Sicilian baroque-styled installation of Dolce & Gabbana Kids, the special runway shows of Apartment, KidzFIZZ and Activelab, and the Pitti P.O.P. Party that celebrated the “Pitti Optical Power” theme at Villa di Maiano.
