UITIC postpones its 21st Congress to 2022. The event was initially scheduled in 2021 in China, but the continuation of the pandemic has pushed the executive committee of the International Union of Shoe Industry Technicians, in accordance with partner CLIA, the China Leather Industry Association, to make this difficult, but carefully deliberated decision.

“Even if China has returned to normality, hosting an international congress could be difficult in 2021 due to the Covid-19 impact on transportation. – declared Yves Morin, President of UITIC – Even though it has been a long time since the 20th Congress held in Portugal in 2018, the current situation demands a very responsible and cautious organisation and invites us to rethink all our processes”.

After the edition in Porto, some time will pass before the 21st Congress returns to host a vast arena of experts and decision makers in the sector. The organisers are in any case already working to ensure that in 2022 the usual lively interaction between brands, distributors, and footwear manufacturers can once again occur.
