tods-no-code-shelter-3Presented at the last Milan Design Week as part of the installation entitled “No_Code Shelter: Stories of Contemporary Life” conceived by Andrea Caputo, the luxury shoe combines traditional Italian craftsmanship with informality and the search for high-performance materials. The foowear designed by Yong Bae Seok could not simply be called a sneaker: there are now too many and the word has lost its charm.

Della Valle and the other creative minds at Tod’s came up with the name “shoeker” and the one created by the Korean designer is the Shoeker 02, already on sale online and in selected Tod’s boutiques. Yong Bae Seok worked on the design alongside the artisans and technicians at Tod’s.

The Korean creator, car designer by trade, is in love with the history of Italian industrial design and with Italy in general:

I am fascinated by the possibilities of creative osmosis with fashion. I think we can achieve surprising hybridisations between form and function, between the magic of fashion and practicality.
