Fausto Ballin

The award, promoted by the Cologni Foundation for Artistic Craft Professions in collaboration with ALMA, the International School of Italian Cuisine, pays tribute to the protagonists of our country’s creative and productive excellence.
The professional career of Fausto Ballin, born in 1950, began with an apprenticeship period within some important shoe factories on the Riviera del Brenta. In 1968 he graduated from the School for Pattern makers and Shoe Technicians in Stra and ten years later he decided to start his own business. Together with his wife Maria Rosa Piacentini he then founded his own company in Vigonovo (VE) which specialises in the production of women’s shoes for local businesses. In 1981 the definitive quantum leap with the creation of the Moda di Fausto brand and the organisation of a dense commercial network, spread throughout Europe. Continuous research, innovation of materials and technical precision characterise his footwear, with an elegant and refined line.
Fausto Ballin has accompanied the company activity with constant associative commitment. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of Acrib with responsibility for trade union relations and since 2007 he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Footwear Polytechnic. Siro Badon, President of Assocalzaturifici said: “The award given to Fausto Ballin is the right recognition to a smart businessman who has led the Brenta shoe to be a protagonist in world markets”.
