Telling the story of shoes through children’s illustrations: this is what the “Scarpetta d’Oro” contest does. It was originally created in 1995 as the brainchild of some Riviera del Brenta teachers who were interested in introducing younger generations to the social-economic context in which they were living. At the MICAM anniversary edition, the contest promoted by ACRIB – the Association of Footwear Manufacturers in Riviera del Brenta and Confindustria Venezia Rovigo in collaboration with Assocalzaturifici and Politecnico Calzaturiero held a special place of honour in the iKidsquare, where it presented reproductions of the most recent winning works.

An opportunity for promoting the contest which, in the words of the President of Confindustria Venezia and Rovigo Vincenzo Marinese, “has the advantage of fully representing and passing down the most genuine values on which the history of the footwear manufacturing district in Riviera del Brenta is founded. Its strength, to this day, lies in its virtuous combination of art and business, halfway between past and future”. This is the message that the initiative transmitted to the many Italian and foreign visitors at MICAM.
