Returning to the September edition of Micam with an important participation are Spanish footwear manufacturers: there will in fact be one hundred and twenty Spanish brands present at the Milan show, including not only a number of well-known and established companies, but also new names, as the expression of an ancient and high-quality footwear-manufacturing tradition that includes all market segments: from trendy to urban collections, from premium to designer, from sneakers to kids, all the way up to sustainable products. The participation of Spanish footwear brands at MICAM has been organised as usual by the Federation of Spanish Footwear Industries (FICE), with the support of the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade (ICEX). With this edition of Micam, the number of exhibitors is up +45% over the previous edition, thus confirming the importance of the Milan show as an international showcase for the Spanish footwear industry, as well as the perfect meeting point for Iberian shoe brands to reinforce their business with retailers from around the world. In fact, Italy, with its imports equal to 22.8 million pairs in 2021, is second in the classification of importers of Spanish shoes, which have already returned to pre-pandemic levels. According to the latest data, between January and May 2022, Spanish shoe exports to Italy arrived at a value of 177.3 million euros, representing an increase of +8.4% over the same period in 2019. Season after season, Spanish brands accordingly satisfy the requirements and needs of a demanding and sophisticated market.
