Enough waiting in line to get into the fitting room, prying eyes on you, and unwanted comments. Today, you can try garments on in complete privacy and from the comfort of your own home, and even invite a friend over for their opinion at your own discretion. In other words, it’s now possible to have affordable luxury shopping at your very own door.

All this is possible thanks to an innovative personalised service proposed by the Brescia-based e-commerce concept store, VFL1, “Stylist at your door”, which revolutionises the shopping experience. How does it work? Select your preferred items from among the sophisticated brands proposed by VFL1 on its site, via social messaging, or by chat, and these items will be delivered to the address of your choice, at the hour you prefer, and with the home try-on assistance of a personal shopper. The maximum in comfort but also in sustainability, since the delivery is entrusted to an electric city car.

Basically, “Stylist at your door” brings shopping from the city centre to the comfort of your own living room! The idea is that of entrepreneur Sara Zucchini, founder of VFL1, a bona fide hub of fashion apparel talents she has selected with care and passion from emerging brands and small-scale designers, both Italian and international, with a focus on artisanal and niche products that are far from the concept of the mass market. An attentive selection that is combined with many custom-made services specifically developed to make the purchasing experience unique and which today is enriched by this revolutionary project that approaches e-commerce in a sustainable way.

The service, which for now is only active in the Brescia area, is realised in collaboration with Manelli Spa- Concessionaria Renault, which has teamed up with the smart and eco-friendly initiative of VFL1 by making a co-branded Renault Twingo electric car available. The customer can opt for the free consultancy of a stylist and can decide whether or not to eventually purchase the items selected for home try-on: in the case where the items selected are not purchased, the delivery, which is otherwise free, has a cost of 20 euros. There is also maximum freedom as far as payment methods are concerned, from cash to all the digital payment systems currently available.

The initiative promoted by VFL1 could represent a valid example worth repeating in the world of footwear: in addition to offering a personalised service to customers and potentially increasing the customer loyalty rate, it could in fact effectively resolve the problem of the delivery’s environmental impact and above all the long-standing problem of returns, which make up an estimated 25% of the total of e-commerce orders placed in the fashion industry. With the home try-on system, the problem of finding the right fit for your favourite pair of shoes would no longer exist, since you would have the possibility of choosing from among various sizes until you found the right one and finally purchased them.
