Announcing it is IFEMA, the organiser of the event, which made this decision together with FICE- the Federation of Spanish Footwear Industries after having examined the results of a survey conducted with its exhibitors and visitors.
The last two editions of Shoes Room at La Nave in Madrid did not have satisfactory results and so the decision to bring the event back under the organisation of Momad – as previously done between September 2013 and March 2016-, seemed to be the best one. Supporting this decision was the feedback of the participating companies at the last edition of Shoes Room, with 72% of them confirming their willingness to exhibit their footwear collections together with the textiles one of Momad. Likewise positive was the feedback of visitors, with 62% confirming that the combined footwear-textiles offering will allow them the possibility to optimise retailer resources.
«At IFEMA, we have always supported the requests of the sector – commented Ana Larrañaga, IFEMA’s Director of Trade Fair business – This is why we left our exhibition centre and chose to instead use the La Nave technology centre twice to hold the fair. Now, with the response from the exhibitors to this latest survey, we support the merger of the two events in a single and exclusive one to reinforce what is now a reality and is called the ‘concept store’, shops that offer all kinds of clothes and accessories, including footwear, in a single location». From his end, the Executive President of FICE, José Monzonís, considered it   «interesting to resume this formula of collaboration between sectors of fashion, while taking into account the current specificities of national distribution»
