The shoe will be made from natural materials and renewable resources through a special production process that reduces the footprint and consumption. The project aims to call attention to the urgent issue of the environment and climate change, while underlying the eco-friendly commitment of the American brand. The aim of Saucony is to produce without materials that are plastic, bioplastic or derivatives of plastic: “We believe what we do is more important that what we say – commented Saucony chief marketing officer Don Lane – We chose the Super Bowl platform to make a big statement about what we are actually doing to bring goodness to the world through a bold commitment to sustainability.”
The new collection will be part of the “Run for Good” platform of Saucony, which has already created a collection of Vegan shoes and a line of sustainable apparel for SS20.
