Following the success of the INDEX 01 – Salomon’s first shoe designed to be recycled, launched in 2021 and whose recycled materials were used for Salomon’s MTN Pure ski mountaineering boot line – the historic brand born in the French Alps in 1947 proudly presents the new INDEX.02, a new recyclable running shoe. Like its predecessor, the INDEX.02 is 100% recyclable, but compared to its predecessor it is 10% lighter (263 grams) and with much higher comfort and performance, thanks to improvements in midsole geometry, foam quality and upper construction.

Like its predecessor, the INDEX.02 features a unique construction that allows it to be disassembled at the end of its use, so that the shoe’s materials can be recycled and used to make a new product. The shoe also features a thin line indicating where it will be split when it is recycled. The different colours on the upper and the bottom of the shoe help emphasise that the shoe uses only two materials and that it can (and should) be separated at the end of its life cycle. A QR code on the tongue of the shoe allows it to be easily scanned and registered after purchase, facilitating its return for recycling at the end of its use.
