A new edition of the S|Style – Sustainable Style exhibition project, curated by fashion journalist Giorgia Cantarini, returned to the Fortezza, in a special area of the Medici Pavilion. The protagonists were 10 brands, the result of a scouting activity with a strong international and inclusive approach, characterised by innovative collections that are at the same time attentive to the wellbeing of people and the environment: from upcycling, or rather the technique of reworking an existing garment, to the use of fabrics certified according to international standards; from the activities of giving back to the planet, with the support of environmental associations and organisations, to the use of recycled materials and ethical work practices capable of making the most of craftsmanship. The brands involved in the project were: Bennu, Connor McKnight, Curious Grid, Dhruv Kapoor, Junk, Margn, Maxime, MWORKS, Philip Huang, Waste Yarn Project.

The focus of this edition was, in particular, ‘slow fashion,’ i.e. “the promotion of handcrafted fashion, representing now more than ever a responsible approach. Rediscovering lost techniques, discarded yarns, and unused deadstock fabrics,” as Giorgia Cantarini pointed out.
