The first edition of Russian Shoe Week, a new exposition event in Moscow, was held from 17 to 21 August

The third week of August saw the first edition of Russian Shoe Week, a new concept event in the city’s fair calendar, was held at the Crocus Expo of Moscow. Intended as a platform in Russia to promote both national and international brands, the event was received with interest and curiosity on the part of buyers in the sector.

In the fair an appealing Trend Area was set up in Collaboration with Ars Sutoria Research Team and Ars Sutoria School in which, as well as concepts and colours for the S/S 2014 season, examples of materials from more than 30 Italian firms were shown, together with over 80 prototypes of footwear from design studious. An all round collaboration involving the whole trade that attracted and inspired both exhibitors and visitors. Furthermore, various topical seminars were held in the trends area which enhanced the actual exhibition. Nazim Mustafaev, director of Russian Shoe Week, and his staff managed to turn the event into one great meeting place, a new concept for trade fairs. The next edition is scheduled for 10 to 14 February 2014 focused on the A/W ’14/15 season.
