More than 150 businesses enlivened São Paulo, during the first edition of Preview Couromoda 2018 held from 9 to 11 November at the Expo Centre Norte trade fair complex. A debut that featured not only the presentation of the first Brazilian pre-collections for the coming Fall-Winter season, but also other initiatives of great interest to the world of footwear production and distribution: the “Couromoda Digital Congress” and “European Shoe Case”. The former highlighted, through the stories of sector experts, the latest innovations and challenges revolutionizing the industry, trade, and consumer trends in what is by now an increasingly digital era. The second showcased the most successful products being sold in the European market, which were divided according to product type and price range. The study, which was undertaken by Georgia Roehe on behalf of Arsutoria-Fotoshoe and Couromoda, was a resounding success among producers and retailers. Moreover, the focus of the study was not only on the stores located in Europe’s leading cities, but also on some of the leading online sites dedicated to the sale and distribution of men’s, women’s, and children’s footwear.

Especially important was the visit of Joao Doria, Mayor of São Paulo, to the event, who, with his presence, underlined how Couromoda – which will celebrate its 45th anniversary in January 2018—is increasingly a point of reference for the economy of the city and one of the most important events in bringing production and distribution together on a worldwide level.

The next appointment is with Couromoda 2018, which will be held from 15 to 18 January, once again in the Expo Centre Norte trade complex in São Paulo.
