After the use of recycled materials, the use of leather from a certified supply chain and the project to support the community in its mountains, Piquadro announces carbon neutrality for the entire Group (Piquadro, The Bridge and Lancel). On the basis of the data reported in the sustainability report, which has been drawn up for four years now, the Piquadro Group has, in fact, determined its carbon footprint for scopes 1 and 2 following the market-based calculation method, for the emissions generated during the financial year 2021-22 and has defined an offsetting plan for all emissions that makes the organisation carbon neutral.

The offsetting target of 1,896 tonnes of CO2 produced by the Group’s compagnie, is in fact achieved through certified carbon credits generated through the reforestation of heavily degraded areas of the Cerrado in Brazil, the most biodiverse tropical forest in the world.

At the same time, about 15 products have been identified among the best-selling lines for each of the Group’s brands, and the quantity of CO2 emitted has been calculated for each one, with the aim of offsetting it through the purchase of additional certified carbon credits. Piquadro will thus be one of the first companies in the world, not only in its sector, to have embraced this level of commitment.

In addition to offsetting the Group’s carbon footprint, Piquadro is also implementing important measures to accelerate the energy transition, and with this in mind has just completed the installation of a 173 kW photovoltaic system at the Gaggio Montano headquarters that will reduce annual energy consumption by 46%, avoiding the emission of 95 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere each year.
