“We regretfully inform you that the event we have tried to organise for September in Florence cannot take place,” Pitti said in a statement sent to exhibitors of the event.
Unfortunately, the second 2020 edition of Pitti Uomo, which was scheduled to be held in September (after being moved from its usual June date) falls victim to the pandemic. The reasons are easy to guess: “an insufficient number of confirmations of attendance due to the difficulties faced by the majority of manufacturing companies and distributors; as well as the uncertainties that continue to persist regarding travelling from one country to another, including quarantine restrictions, and the prolonged lack of any certainties regarding non-repayable government and European economic support for taking part in fairs.”
This also includes all the other Pitti Immagine events scheduled for this year. In fact, Pitti Bimbo, Pitti Filati, Super will also not be held.
Everything is postponed until January 2021. Pitti Immagine will be putting all its resources into further improving the Pitti Connect digital platform, which received decisive help from the Italian Trade Agency (Agenzia ICE). The platform will open to exhibitors and industry operators from late June/early July, and run throughout September, in order to help companies comply with the traditional timings of the sales campaign.
