Amazon has inaugurated a new section dedicated to traditional local excellences in its Made in Italy showcase, consisting of already more than 100 small and medium-sized enterprises from the Marche region. And together with the Marche Region it wants to support small and medium-sized enterprises, with dedicated digital promotion and training activities. The agreement envisages to support the digitisation and internationalisation of small and medium-sized enterprises in the area, the promotion of Made in Italy products, including those from the Marche region, through the Amazon Made in Italy showcase and the organisation of training activities dedicated to small and medium-sized enterprises.
Starting from today, the typical products of the Marche region are also available in a dedicated regional section in the Amazon Made in Italy showcase. A selection of over 6000 products, ranging from food and wine specialties such as local DOP, DOC and DOCG wines, to the renowned Ciauscolo IGP salami, to the excellences of the local footwear district, known all over the world, to artisanal or handmade design products, now available on Amazon.it, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, Amazon.es, Amazon.co.uk. Amazon.com. Amazon.co.jp and Amazon.ae. There are about 100 small and medium-sized enterprises from the Marche region that are already part of the showcase reaching customers in Italy and abroad.
Amazon has launched this new regional section also thanks to the contribution of the broader “Collaboration Agreement” with ICE Agenzia to support Italian small and medium-sized enterprises by helping them to digitise and sell local products both in Italy and abroad.
According to the data, 96.3% of companies in the Marche region have a fixed or mobile broadband connection, compared to a national average of 94.5%, 95.6% in the North West, 97.3% in the North East and 90.4% of Central Italy, while 67.7% of companies in the Marche have a website, home page or internet page compared to a national average of 72.1%, 78.4% in the North West, 80.4% in the North East and 66.9% in Central Italy.
“Over 500 small and medium-sized enterprises from the Marche region already sell their products on Amazon.it, and in 2020 they achieved sales abroad of over €20 million – declares Ilaria Zanelotti, Director Seller Service Amazon Italy – This agreement represents another step forward on the path to support Italian entrepreneurship”.
An opportunity that can undoubtedly lend a hand to the recovery of the Italian footwear and leather goods sector whose tradition and local characterisation are highly appealing.
