MadeInAdd, the start-up ready to scale-up, born as a system project on the initiative of CDP Venture Capital Sgr and in JV with Dumarey Group and FOMAS Group, presents Maddie, the first AI Agent born to simplify access to additive manufacturing, accelerating its adoption.Additive manufacturing is a production process that creates three-dimensional objects by adding material layer after layer, and is often also called 3D printing.

The traditional manufacturing industry sees the world leadership of China (ISPI data) with 4.8 trillion dollars (27% of the total), followed by the United States with 2.8 trillion (17%), while Italy confirms second European manufacturing power and eighth in the world – However, modest growth is expected – where the recovery of European demand will be crucial.

Additive manufacturing, on the other hand, has a global value of around $25 billion in 2025, with an estimated growth of $113 billion by 2032. And according to the data reported by the Confindustria report of last June 2025, only 8.2% of Italian companies with more than ten employees use AI-based technologies, against a European average that exceeds 15%.

MadeInAdd was created to guide the transition of the manufacturing sector through digitalization and the countless potential offered by additive manufacturing. A transition necessary to maintain the country’s high competitiveness, with additive manufacturing as an alternative and as an effective complementary tool to traditional manufacturing.

“The features of our AI Agent represent a real revolution for the manufacture that we wanted to bring to the market with maximum simplicity to allow its rapid adoption” commented Andrea Gorlezza, CEO of MadeInAdd.

Maddie opens new horizons for the production of components and products, from large corporations to users not yet experienced in additive manufacturing.

The AI Agent – depicted as a geometrically complex sphere formed by laser cutting of metal powder (to recall one of industrial high precision 3D printing technologies) – breaks down any technical barrier of feasibility and time, Allowing you to start an extremely simplified configuration process from simple renderings, 2D drawings, but also photographs, to prepare for 3D printing. Depending on the type of request entered, the AI Agent will be able to provide an answer calibrated on the production possibility: from the available materials to the best applicable technologies, up to the actual time and costs of realization.

Maddie thus marks the beginning of a new era for the manufacturing industry, bringing a decisive added value to all the applications already present in the MadeInAdd platform, in constant synergy with the consulting work of the team of specialized engineers who, At the end of each order process, validates the user’s configuration flow with the help of Maddie, optimising it where still possible, and finishing the 3D model, ensuring accuracy and reliability in every stage of the project and quality control of the printed part. The platform thus increases its efficiency exponentially and the speed with which it is able to respond, in the face of a multiplicity of inputs, to the most felt needs of the market, as well as to the most particular demands: the possibility of rapid prototyping, optimization of parts with a design that can only be produced with 3D printing (Design for Additive Manufacturing), small series production, on-demand production, components and spare parts out of production.
