We have always used natural, recyclable, and biodegradable materials like cotton, jute, and rubber, but our aim is to reduce the impact on climatic change to a minimum in the future by offering Vegan and sustainable options to our clientele. For this reason, we are aiming to substitute all the materials used in our knitted sneakers with recyclable alternatives by 2021”, declares Natalie Miller, designer of Holster. The Australian brand has in fact presented its new collection of fashion and sustainable sneakers made with an upper created from recycled plastic ocean waste using 3D technology. The innovative PET yarn, in addition to being a Vegan alternative that is respectful of animal life, can also be recycled an endless number of times without ever losing its quality, and thanks to 3D printing techniques, material discards and energy consumption are reduced to a minimum. The first models of the collection in recycled PET – the athleisure sneakers Tempo, Gravitate and Brooklin – even guarantee maximum comfort, thanks to the seamless upper, which perfectly covers the foot, the padded insole in PU foam, and the ultralight EVA sole.
