Great artisanal content in the refined collection made in Italy from talented up-and-coming Nordic designer Erïk Bjerkesjö

A personal and professional story that starts from Sweden to progress through the great artisanal tradition of Italy and Tuscany in particular. We are talking about Erïk Bjerkesjö, a talented young designer who, after winning the contest Who is on Next, Uomo 2012, was chosen to take part in the New Performer project during the latest edition of Pitti Uomo. On that occasion his latest clothing and footwear collection of the highest craftsmanship was shown at Villa Favard of Florence, attracting the attention of international buyers and press. Director Etienne Russo cleverly created an ideal atmosphere for a collection named “l’Ile” in homage to the island facing Stockholm that Erik comes from and was also home once to Ingmar Bergman whose simplified and rigorous aesthetic has been an important source of inspiration. Produced entirely in Tuscany, also thanks to the contribution of Consorzio Vera Cuoio, the footwear is an integral part of the Erïk Bjerkesjö collection for Winter 2013/14 which includes such particular features as the specially created removable blades like those of ice skates on the soles. A series of small but fine effects like the details rounded by hand, elegant punching on the tips and even the three 18 carat gold nails at the heels.
