Brand new to the 42nd edition of Fimec, the international fair, which in Novo Hamburgo reunites producers of leathers, chemical products, components, machinery and equipment for the leather/footwear industries, is the debut of the first Fimec “Fashion and Business” Forum. A unique platform for debating the most relevant sector themes, providing quality information and training to the leather goods and footwear industries.
The event will be held outside the fair’s regularly scheduled hours, alternating different lectures held by national and international professionals, who will share their experiences and discuss prominent themes for those working in the sector’s segments: “We conceived this project in order to bring qualified contents to Fimec’s visitors – declares Márcio Jung, CEO of Fenac, the entity responsible for organising the fair and event – through the presentation of cases and stories that regard both fashion and business. Our idea is that of transmitting this know-how through a lecture format that is capable of inspiring and motivating, but to also push sector entrepreneurs to carve out a prominent position for themselves on the domestic and international markets”.
The first day of the forum will be dedicated to fashion: the fashion designer and trend forecaster Luana Lanzini will present together with Luana Savadintzky from Fashion Direction the theme “Heritage and creative consistency – Is fashion no longer ephemeral?” The second day instead will be dedicated to business themes, with the contribution of two sector experts: Julio Martini, COO of the Camuto Group, and John Wilson, Vice President of New Balance USA. The former will compare Brazilian production with worldwide production in the lecture “Brazil X World: Where are we in production terms in the world?”, while the latter will present the “Industrial Case New Balance”.
