products-9The show, which was held on the third floor of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on the same days as APLF, the platform of reference for the footwear supply chain, focused its proposal on the Athleisure trend, which is creating a stir almost everywhere, and especially in Asia.  Sporty and leisure time footwear is, in fact, the preferred style of both Millennials, born between the Eighties and 2000, and Silvers, consumers who are over the age of 65 years old and who are taking on an increasingly important role in the global economy.  products-2In fact, a report released by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs forecasts that in 2030 around 12% of the world’s population will be over the age of 65.  It’s a target of greater financial means and with a higher purchasing power compared to other younger generations, which allows them to dedicate themselves to hobbies, interests, and vacations, which – naturally – as a result, creates a greater demand for athleisure footwear.

fashion-accessDespite Fashion Access’s focus on footwear proposals, there were also other product categories on show including bags, luggage, gloves, scarves, and leather outerwear… with the latest trends presented by companies coming from all over the Asian area including China, India, Japan, and South Korea… as well as exhibitors from Brazil….

Over the days of the fair, great interest was also shown in the sections of Design Street, which expressed the fashion trends and brands coming from Asia, and Fashion Avenue, dedicated instead to brands coming from all over the world.

fasion-access1Next to the exhibition, Fashion Access presented a series of conferences dedicated to important themes for footwear and retail, like “Footwear Retail and Fashion”, with a focus on athleisure, while also hosting the awards ceremony for “Design a Bag”, promoted by APLF Fashion Access in collaboration with the prestigious Italian design school Ars Sutoria, with Chin Tak Chak receiving the award for his multifunctional business bag project, “Indiscriminate”.

The next edition of Fashion Access will be held in conjunction with APLF and with a renewed edition of Cashmere World, from 14 to 16 March 2018.
