The fair at Riva del Garda continues to be successful not only within the confines of the trade fair, but also thanks to the evenings in which visitors and exhibitors can continue to network, between relaxation and fun. During the 102nd edition of Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags, the appointment of Saturday 11 January 2025, at the PalaVela venue, was welcomed with enthusiasm and great participation, demonstrating the solidity of the community and the desire to take advantage of every opportunity to strengthen professional relationships.

During the evening, a great novelty was previewed, which will bring about significant positive changes starting from the next edition of the fair, in June 2025. This is the new Gardabags project that will bring growth and renewal to the entire bags and accessories sector, giving them even more space and visibility during the event.

But last January, a special guest, an international artist with a long and luminous career behind her, contributed to the success of Expo Riva Night. Amii Stewart took to the stage, together with her band, the show “Back to the roots” and opened the dances that then continued to the sound of the wild rhythms of the DJ set.

Speaking of “back to the roots” and embracing this concept, Amii Stewart told us about her vision in a beautiful interview, proving herself not only a great artist, but also an exceptional person.

Amii Stewart’s roots

Why is it important to go back to your origins, to your roots, as the title of your tour suggests?

“I think it is important to go back to your roots, because that is where you start from to find out where to go in the future. We all live in the present but we are part of the past. The past is an important part of our lives and we depend on it more than we think. It is precisely by going back to our roots that we find the answers on which to build tomorrow”.

Which shoe do you prefer to wear and which designer has most amazed you recently?

“When I look at a dress or an accessory, I don’t think ‘can I wear it to a party?’, but I think ‘can I wear it on stage?’. This year, the one who, in my opinion, answered the question best and really pushed the envelope was Maison Schiaparelli”.

What is never missing from her bag as an artist?

“That’s not the right question. You should ask me: what do I NOT put in my bag? Again, I prepare it by going back to my roots as a dancer. A dancer has to have everything in her bag, because she never knows what she might need. It is impossible for me to leave the house with just my car keys, my wallet and some lipstick. I have to have a scarf, in case it’s windy; I have to have a pair of comfortable ballet flats with me in case I have to walk a lot. I think about every eventuality”.
