Joséphine Baker, Marlene Dietrich, Grace Kelly, Marilyn Monroe, and Edith Piaf: these are the five unforgettable women, unique and still extremely well-loved today, who the creative director of the historic Maison Roger Vivier, Gherardo Felloni, chose as the protagonists of the short film, ‘Do we show?’ to present the brand’s new collection for the fall/winter. In the film, we see impersonators of these great divas of cinema and music take part in a video created by Felloni, as the special guests of a fashion show that is late in getting started. Thus, the reality we have all been living boldly enters this imaginative universe, with the plot for the film reflecting how the pandemic has been postponing fashion shows and exhibitions, which are forced to fall back to virtual shows. In this short, we see these divas run out of patience, and get up on the stage, reciting monologues, and filling the scene with their style and beauty. And the words of Marlene Dietrich further confirm this moment of suspension, while waiting for the show (and life) to go on: “You know, it’s hard to perform without a public”.

With irony and originality, the film leads us to reflect upon this moment of waiting and anticipation that the world is experiencing because of the pandemic, while at the same time paying tribute to the stylist’s passion for cinema and performance, which have been hit hard by this crisis.

“Sooner or later, we’ll go out once again – confirmed Gherardo Felloni in relation to the film – That's why I imagined stiletto heel boots and extremely sexy shoes. The same goes for accessories. I imagined bags with metal jewellery, ideal for the evening. After a year and a half in slippers, I think a lot of women will want to play with their looks! Here is what I can offer as a creator: hope. It is up to us, now that the present is so sad, to design a more joyful future”.

The collection itself conquers with its bold femininity and elegance, where women are the protagonists. Among the new entry products, we find the ‘Covered Buckle Platform Boot’, a boot high up to the knee, with stiletto heel, platform, and the iconic Roger Vivier buckle. Among the leading pieces is also the premium ‘Viv’ Choc’ bag, with a contemporary and sophisticated design.
