“Gods had given them kindness” this is how the story written by Daniele Ancarani ends, which introduces the photographic exhibition ‘Pictures’ where the best images of the advertising campaigns of the last two seasons of the brand were collected, including those interpreted by the irreverent style icon Drusilla Foer.

An exhibition/event in which all the charm of shoes designed by Daniele Ancarani and the strength of their simple refinement was the mood. The desire for art even before shoes, or rather, the desire to make shoes that are first of all a creative gesture and then business is palpable.

torino1torino3Not that there is a lack of numbers as this brand boasts seven single branded Ancarani (between Bologna, Catania, Rome and Rimini) to which this year was added the store in Turin: the Ancarani Boutique in via XX Settembre 4/A. In 2017 it had a turnover of 1,660,000 euro (+ 68.2% compared to the previous year) and has been growing steadily since 2014 in China by 25%, in Japan by 10%, in England by 15%.

But the numbers are not everything… this is demonstrated by the desire of Daniele Ancarani and Fabio Alibrandi, his partner in life and work, to instill poetry in what they do, to rely on creativity not only for business, but also trying to find a meaning, an emotion.

When we thought about the advertising campaign for the SS 2019 we wanted an interruption compared to the previous ones – says Daniele – Then we climbed onto the steaming Etna and we were enchanted by the strong and black landscape. So naked, bare, but at the same time powerful and metaphorical. Thanks to the photographer Fabrizio Cavallaro, a true Sicilian, we got involved. The result was a story, a story that we decided to share.

SPRING SUMMER 2019

The collection is characterised by two basic elements: lightness and transparency. Keywords that are expressed through the use of extremely soft and light materials such as moiré and leather with metallic colours, but also involving transparent fabrics, such as metal mesh and vinyl that let you glimpse without ever unveil. Accessories marry transparency with the complicity of a jewel … coloured or white, but absolutely transparent, iceberg heels that coexist in a play with wood and rhinestones, true light points of the shoe, become protagonists thanks to design and glamour.
