The exhibition, hosted at Palazzo Morando, in the heart of Milan’s Quadrilatero della Moda, is now presented in its editorial edition, with a highly valuable hardcover book enclosed in an elegant container box, celebrating the 130th anniversary of the great couturier.
Promoted by the Federation of Spanish Footwear Industries (FICE) with the support of ICEX, the initiative’s main sponsor, the book conceived and edited by Javier Echeverría Sola celebrates the dialogue between Cristóbal Balenciaga’s vision, footwear, and contemporary Spanish high craftsmanship.
Collected in images of extraordinary quality, Cristóbal Balenciaga’s works are documented in the volume, created by the renowned photographer Juan Carlos Vega, with twenty-five original pieces from Spain’s main museums and private collections, while the container box features a photograph of the famous 1957 wedding dress in silk shantung embroidered with silver thread and mother-of-pearl sequins.
Alongside these extraordinary pieces, the volume collects images of footwear made by twenty-five Spanish brands, selected as ambassadors of excellence and creativity in the Spanish footwear sector, in a harmonious dialogue between tradition and innovation.
