Chicane and Michelin, in collaboration with the licensee JV International, launch a new line of footwear for professional racing car drivers: the Speedster. It’s a track-day shoe, featuring the design of the Michelin® sole inspired by the tread pattern of the Pilot® family of tires, which is designed to be comfortable in and out of the car. The Speedster is a low-top shoe with cowhide suede uppers, polyurethane midsoles for cushioning, and exclusive Chicane insoles. The Speedster collection includes the GT1, GT2 and GT3 models, which are all FIA 8856-2000 and SFI 3.5/5 certified, meaning they’ve been approved by racing’s top governing bodies. The same models are developed with the contribution of MSA racer Dylan Murry, who finished second in the LMP2 class in Rolex 24 at Daytona.

The GT1, in premium leather, is designed for racers who seek lightweight comfort, breathability and pedal sensitivity. The soft padded collars allow good ankle articulation into the pedal box. This and all GT shoes feature soles fitted with the Michelin® Pilot® Sport Cup 2 tire tread design and are anti-static as well as fuel and oil resistant. The GT2, instead, is designed for club racers seeking top performance in time trials and high-performance driver education. This durable and lightweight shoe also provides excellent comfort, breathability, and pedal sensitivity, as well as traction in the paddock. Finally, the GT3 has many of the same features as the GT1 and GT2, and is designed for track drivers seeking comfort, performance and protection at an affordable price.  All Chicane footwear features ergonomic dual-density insoles that keep the foot in a neutral position, improving fit, comfort and performance.

Michelin is known on an international level not only for its tires, but has also been present for years in the footwear industry through its licensee JV International, developing high performance soles designed for over 12 different areas of designated use: from outdoor sports to running, from lifestyle to work and safety.
