The new collection by the Roman designer, Charline de Luca, features amazing new structures and technical details

Edgy constructions and impressive technical details characterise the new Charline De Luca collection. Geometric heels are matched with wedges that go narrower:
a new prismatic heel features a metal blade inset, giving a strong vertical sense and reflecting light.

The new collection is about new interlocking shapes and offers sophisticated materials such as printed stingray, and new finishes like shiny droplets and stardust on calf. Bright, metallic, textured, the new hides are decided and feminine.

The collection is very attentive to proportions and volumes which allow giving a feminine touch to rigid lines and geometric shapes. The colours are interesting: metallic in the shades of green sea, sapphire and garnet; and solid colours in white, beige, sulphur yellow, black and weaved wool.

At only 24 years of age, the Italian-born Charline De Luca has earned the nickname “shoe architect” because of her innovative approach, and also her BA in architecture obtained at the New York Institute of Technology.

The Roman designer, whose professional experience also included a stint at Fendi and a Shoe Design Diploma at Saint Martin’s College of London, has made herself known to the media and market by finishing third in the international competition “Who’s on Next” in 2012.

This year, however, one of her models was selected by the Museum of the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York for the exhibit “Shoe Obsession”, which ended in April.
