After has increased the share of Myanmar-made shoes in its total yearly production to almost one million pairs, Caprice announced that a new state-of-the-art shoe factory was taken into operation in the northwest of the industrial metropolis of Yangon, together with the Taiwanese partner Mountain Top Global Ltd. The company’s goal is to raise the production volume in Myanmar by 2024 to two million pairs of high-quality leather shoes every year.
The newly created 14.500-sqm factory halls were equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and production facilities. Besides an administration building, a canteen kitchen, an infirmary, several recreation rooms and living quarters for employees were also built on the factory premises. In addition to the self-sufficient power supply, a water treatment plant was put into operation, which provides urgently needed drinking water in the developing country.
