The Italian firm BRIDGE has acquired the European license of the famous SMITH’S AMERICAN brand of workwear

The “Smith’s American” brand dates back to 1906 when, in New York, the head of a family of Polish jews started making tough but comfortable work cloths to meet the needs of the thousands of immigrants who continued to land on Ellis Island.

Over a century later the immigration has reversed to add further prestige to a legendary brand full of historical content. It is in particular Italian style, with its innovation and artisan workmanship, which makes Smith’s American such a success on the other side of the “pond”.

The Italian firm Bridge of Maser (Treviso), European licensee for the clothing and footwear, has in fact taken up and enhanced this heritage with a series of casual-chic collections, a synthesis of American style and Made in Italy.

The new options for Winter ‘13/14 were launched successfully in Berlin at the latest Bread&Butter. The most interesting models of footwear for both men and women include the derby, desert boot, loafer and sneaker, all featuring leather insoles and latex inserts for greater comfort.
