The sixth edition of BFSHOW is set to welcome 164 international buyers from 32 countries, thanks to the Brazilian Footwear Buyer Project run by the Brazilian Footwear Industry Association (Abicalçados) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil). The fair, which takes place from 18 to 20 May in São Paulo, is expected to attract over 12,000 visitors, including more than a thousand importers attending independently. The event is considered the largest of its kind in Latin America and brings together around 350 Brazilian brands. Paola Pontin – Abicalçados Business Coordinator – explains that the importers were selected based on their purchasing potential and market diversification. The buyers come from various sectors and help create opportunities for brands at BFSHOW. Furthermore, the timing coincides with the period when importers are restocking for the second half of the year.
The Brazilian Footwear Buyer Project will bring 15 buyers from 11 countries, with a strong presence from North America, Africa and Europe. BFSHOW has invited a total of 149 international buyers, thereby increasing global participation in the event.
Expectations for international trade have improved thanks to a favourable outlook for Brazilian exports. Data compiled by Abicalçados show that, in April, Brazilian exports showed signs of recovery, with 8.2 million pairs shipped, an increase of 9% compared with the previous year.
