The world of footwear mourns the loss of one of its leading designers: Thierry Rabotin, in fact, passed away this past August 11. Along with Christian Loubotin, Bruno Pavlovsky, and Manolo Blahnik, he was considered one of the “four musketeers” in footwear: the shoe sector will sorely miss the loss of his one-of-a-kind style.

Thierry Rabotin’s career was based on a personal quest to create the perfect equilibrium between shape and function, which was made possible thanks to his stylistic calling card of a sophisticated style, fanatical attention to details, and constant use of the California construction method.  The resulting excellence guaranteed maximum comfort because “the shoe must envelop the foot – said Thierry – giving the pleasant sensation of walking barefoot”.

Born in France, but an adoptee of the city of Parabiago, for a number of years Thierry Rabotin produced his shoes in the Parabiago Collezioni facility. Alongside his passion for shoes, Thierry’s passion for painting allowed him to express his limitless creativity.

The Fotoshoe editorial staff expresses its deepest condolences for his loss and comes together with his friends in wishing Thierry one last “bon voyage”.
