Assocalzaturifici, in collaboration with the ICE Agency, kicked off the road show dedicated to promoting Italian footwear – the undiscussed icon of fashion, style, and elegance -, presenting to the sector operators the 84th edition of theMicam, which will be held in Fiera Milano (Rho) from 17 to 20 September 2017, in conjunction for the first time with Fashion Week.

After a stop in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, on 10 March, the tour will continue with stops in Sydney (13 March), as part of the Confindustria mission to Australia headed by the Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Ivan Scalfarotto; and in Shanghai (16 March), during La Moda Italiana@CHIC, the trade fair dedicated to Made in Italy fashion, accessories, and footwear in China, which is organized by Ente Moda Italia in collaboration with Assocalzaturifici. In fact, the Far East and Australia are confirmed as dynamic end markets for Italian footwear exports, insomuch that together with China and Hong Kong, they represent the fifth market in value for our exports.

Moreover, Australia, during the first ten months of 2016, registered a winning trend in terms of value, with a 12.6% increase compared to the first ten months of 2015. “The teasers of theMICAM”, – explains Assocalzaturifici President Annarita Pilotti, “-were made possible, thanks to the support we received through the extraordinary plan for Made in Italy funded by the Ministry of Economic Development and the ICE Agency. It will be the chance to present theMICAM to a series of foreign markets that are important for our businesses. However, it will also be the starting point of an international tour, which is requiring great efforts, and which we will use to promote our event worldwide”.
