The nineteen-year-old student from the Bernardino di Betto high school in Perugia was the winner out of 124 participants coming from around the world (Greece, Spain, Mexico, Columbia, Germany, the USA, Romania, India, Poland, Turkey, Argentina, Morocco, Ukraine, Albania, Peru, Israel, Russia, Macedonia, Senegal, China, Pakistan, and Thailand) with “a gallery of eclectic pumps – is what can be read in the judging panel’s decision – that are explosive, creative, and colourful”.

The winner will receive a period of vocational training at the Cercal International Footwear School and a six-month internship at one of the associated footwear companies (Casadei, Gianvito Rossi, Giuseppe Zanotti, Pollini, Sergio Rossi, and Tgp) along with a reimbursement of expenses equal to 4000 euros.
The official awards ceremony will be held on 14 June at the Teatro di Villa Torlonia in San Mauro Pascoli.

Alongside first place winner Edoardo Bertelli, the winners’ podium includes Luis Felipe Alvarez Torres from Alicante in second place for the second year in a row, and in third place, the duo of Manuel Biondini from Longiano and Carlos Adrian Oliva Rodriguez from Mexico.
The contest also has a section dedicated to schools: among the eight participating schools, the winner was the arts high school of Bernardino di Betto in Perugia, the very same school of first place winner Bertelli, for the following reason: “For the quality of the projects submitted, which were elegant, creative, and colourful like modern works of art”.
