Characterizing this edition will be the show dates that are just before the Milan Women’s Fashion Week calendar of events, together with a huge turnout by big names in the world of fashion.  The last day of the fair, in fact, will coincide with the opening of Milan Women’s Fashion Week, as a tangible sign of the desire by the main players in the fashion chain to create a synergistic system.  Turning up in support of the Italian manufacturing industry will be some of the world’s leading fashion brands making their return to the Fashion Square in Hall 1:  alongside Fendi, Salvatore Ferragamo, Gucci, Prada and Tod’s, who have reconfirmed their presence at the upcoming edition, will be some important new names such as Giorgio Armani, Sergio Rossi, Jimmy Choo, and Ermenegildo Zegna.

Glam will also play an important role at this edition and will be guaranteed by the fair’s slick new image campaign that follows in the footsteps of Dante’s “Divine Comedy”:  after “Lust”, in September, the new edition has chosen to focus on “Seduction” in order to portray the beauty and quality craftsmanship of the Italian shoe.

yw5p4865Together with the new image contents, the fair will also showcase the Spring-Summer 2018 collections of more than 1,400 brands, as an expression of the very best Made in Italy, next to selected names from the international panorama of footwear.  Moreover, international designers will make their return, together with the hotbed of new talents in the Emerging Designer Area.

Next to the footwear show, a rich programme of events will alternate fashion shows at the MICAM Square, with seminars and presentations dedicated to fashion trends and retail.  WGSN will once again curate these events, while also proposing an inside look into children’s footwear in the iKIDSQUARE.

At the end of the first day, the MICAM Party will provide a lively post-fair moment, with highly glamorous contents and an exceptional guest of honour:  Bob Sinclair.

Finally, from 15 to 30 September, the MICAM will present the special photographic exhibition devised by Giovanni Gastel on the theme of “Similarities” in the Spazio Borgonuovo.  An exhibition that takes its inspiration from a detail on various Made in Italy shoes to then go on to compose new images by matching them with other objects or elements.
