Attracting young qualified workers who can be inserted on the production line, in answer to the generational turnover occurring in the footwear industry: this is the main aim of Talent Shoe 2018 “Shake the Future of the Footwear Sector” promoted by the European Commission in partnership with Assocalzaturifici and the European Confederation of the Footwear Industry.  An original format for involving youths and stimulating their creativity, which ended this past 25 June 2018 in Milan. Among the leading themes of the competition was that of environmental sustainability in the “Innovative and Futuristic Footwear” section, while sharing technologies were at the centre of “The Footwear Plant of the Future” projects. In these categories, the winners selected by the jury made up by Nicola Saldutti from the Corriere della Sera newspaper, designers Giuseppe Zanotti and Costantin Livas, and the European Commission DG Grow were: the 3LFT sneaker submitted by the West Boemia University – Czech Republic, with a design attentive to the health of the foot, which also involves the consumer in the creative process; and the “Bernox: the class that inspires you” project by Isis Bernocchi from Legnano.
