The works of the winners of the 5th Stonefly “Cammina con l’Arte” Award, promoted by the Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa, are on display at Via Farini (Fabbrica del Vapore of Milan) for the first time.

Bevilacqua La Masa, the historic institution and privileged perspective for the most interesting artistic experiences of Triveneto, and Stonefly, a leading Italian manufacturer of innovative footwear, have given life to the 5th Stonefly “Cammina con l’Arte” Award. Through a partnership between art and business in continuous evolution, and with the aim of adding prestige and value to the award, young artists residing at the Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa were invited to analyse the production dynamics and activities performed in the company, interpreting the stimuli coming from experiments with materials, relationships between workers, modes of communication and strategic choices.

In fact, Stonefly has opened its doors to the curiosity of artists, calling on them to reconsider, from their point of view, the Second Skin project: the shoe resulting from extensive technological research whose softness, comfort, and lightness has become a real “second skin” for the foot. Following their own attitudes and according to the techniques they believe are most suitable, the artists have imagined the materialisation of a second skin, translating and expanding the contents of this innovative collection. Milan will exhibit the works of Caterina Erica Shanta (born in Landsthul, Germany in 1986) who won the “purchasing and production” award with the project “Touch without seeing, see without touching” and the duo Graziano Meneghin and Jacopo Trabona, who won second prize for their work The Black square/The Machine for Seeing What There is to See. The exhibition will remain open until Tuesday 17 March 2015, from 15 to 19.
