Italian fashion strengthens its ties with Iran, providing impetus to the trend of Italian exports destined for this area: a success that is topped off by the latest mission to this country organized by SMI – Sistema Moda Italia [the Italian Fashion System] this past November, in collaboration with the Teheran Garment Union, and with the support of the Teheran ICE Agency, which brought 16 companies from different sectors (yarns, fabrics for apparel and furnishing, apparel for men, women, and children, footwear, and machinery) to Iran: Alessandro Dell’Acqua, Angelo Nardelli, Berwich, Aldo Bruè, Calligaris, Ente Moda Italia, Emmebivi, Ezio Ghiringhelli, GTA, Meltin’ Pot, Monnalisa, Morgan Tecnica, Rivolta Carmignani, Svevo, Tessitura Scotti and Vigano.

The mission reinforced the agreement signed with the Memorandum of Understanding this past April, during the entrepreneurial mission organized and sponsored by the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, which was headed by Prime Minister Matteo Renzi. At the same time, it pointed out the absence of viable competitors for high quality Italian products, in a market that Claudio Marenzi, President of SMI believes to have “extraordinary potential”.
