The world of safety is ready for a new and important event: Sicur Madrid, the event organised by IFEMA at Feira de Madrid, which every two years proposes a complete panorama of technological innovations dedicated to security, personal protection, and fire prevention and extinction.

The makings for an edition that will surpass the results of 2016 are all there, with an increased demand for exhibition space, which two years ago brought together 1,332 companies (+11% over the previous edition). In terms of visitors, 42,294 professionals from 76 countries (+8.5% over 2014) were registered at the 2016 edition.

Elected this past June, since its very first meeting, the newly formed Organising Committee has been focused on elevating the representativeness and visibility of the event, both nationally and internationally, while ensuring that Sicur becomes the platform of reference for all those working in the safety industry.

Backing this strategy for growth are also the security sector’s main associations of reference in Spain, which include TECNIFUEGO/AESPI, the Spanish Fire Protection Association, chairing the Organising Committee; ASEPAL, the Association of Personal Protection Equipment Companies; AES, the Spanish Association of Security Companies, and APROSER, the Association of Private Security Service Companies, as the three vice-chairs. Also part of this Committee are the main associations representing the world of private security, occupational safety, prevention, professionals, State Security Forces and Agencies, configuring a comprehensive work group that is focused on fostering greater involvement of the industrial sector serviced by Sicur, while improving the interaction between exhibitors and the organization, so that the fair and its activities are more effective.

As far as Sicur 2018 is concerned, it will be divided into four halls, where each one of the sectors has its own identity. Hall 10, dedicated to Security, will focus on the latest in physical security, intrusion detection systems and access control, surveillance, private security solutions, equipment for the public security forces and, in general, the latest technological advances in the protection of property.  The Fire Prevention and Emergencies Sector located in Hall 8 will feature the latest on passive and active fire protection, as well as solutions to improve response times in emergency situations. Finally, Halls 4 and 6 shall be dedicated to the Occupational Safety sector, with the latest proposals in Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), as well as in preventive and occupational health measures.

As usual, SICUR will also be an important platform for information and all-around business on every level, with instruments like the Sicur Forum, where the sector’s latest developments will be disseminated and analysed, but also dynamic exhibitions, live demonstrations, and product tests.

With the aim of promoting research, development, and innovation in the safety sector, Sicur 2018 will also present the New Products Gallery, which will bring together and present to the public of operators the latest proposals held to be, by a jury of experts, the most representative in terms of technology or design.
