Moon Boot, Florentine moon landing50 years have passed since the landing on the moon, a special anniversary shared by the Moon Boot brand which, at Pitti Uomo, celebrates at the Stazione Leopolda in Florence among boots and giant flying astronauts.
On show, an exhibition of 50 models key to making the history of the brand owned by Tecnica Group Spa.
Among them is included the iconic Moon Boot inspired by lunar landings and the first legendary step taken by Neil Armstrong on the moon’s surface. “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind”: it was the first mission to the moon to in fact inspire the creation of the Moon Boot, which then went on to become the cult object it continues to be today around the world. Moreover, it has now been revamped in contemporary versions that do not betray its origins. Like the capsule collection presented in the igloo set up at the Fortezza da Basso: this limited edition is made up by a dozen models or so, including the precious boot covered in Swarovski crystals in both a high and low-cut version, at the not exactly inexpensive price of 2500 to 3000 euros.
Not new to projects with leading names in fashion and footwear – like Armani, Jimmy Choo, Moncler, and Massimo Giorgetti…. – Moncler announces that it would like to focus on products dedicated not only to the mountains, but also for the city, while extending its distribution from sports stores to also include other channels.
